Kore Labyris Pendant - Sterling Silver
Description
Kore is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter – she was abducted by Hades. The story of her abduction brought about the belief that she is the personification of vegetation which shoots forth in spring and withdraws into the earth after harvest.
The labyris is a a symmetrical doubleheaded axe and has long been seen as a symbol of the Amazons, ancient matriarchal societies and within Womyn's Culture today.
Hand cast in sterling silver this beautiful Kore Labyris Pendant
was first introduced at the Michigan Women's Music Festival in the late 1970s.
